You can rest assured that your survey is portable to any other Lime Survey installation -- whether at some time you opt to move your work in-house, or if you decide you need to host your surveys physically within specific countries, you'll never be trapped in a proprietary solution.

LimeSurvey is an OpenSource solution, which means unlike SurveyMonkey, the only thing you're paying us for is the hosting and server capacity to handle high loads of traffic (you're not paying us for continued software development -- the OpenSource community does that for free).

The other benefit is that with LimeSurvey, there are many companies that host LimeSurvey --although as best as we know, we're the only company that specializes in hosting the LimeSurvey web survey software on Canadian servers.

Services like SurveyMonkey are great too -- we like competition -- but LimeSurvey will provide you with most of the features that competiting commercial products offer. Unfortunately, none of these folks offer Canadian hosted solutions, and frankly, if you're collecting data from Canadians (or any non-Americans), it just seems reasonable that you should be aware of the Patriot Act, and why it is important to host your survey data outside of the United States.
